Wednesday December 23, 2020 French Quarter, Bourbon Street and Nathan King!!!

This morning Graham went with me on my run.  We found a trail that runs along the Mississippi.  We did a short run because I was feeling tired.  There were lots of bikers and runners on the trail.  We enjoyed each others company!!

We got a visit today from one of the elders that served in our ward back home!!! Nathan King!! He lives about an hour away from where we are and he made the drive to come spend the day with us.  It was so great to see him and hear what he's been up to since being home. He hung with us all day!!!  It was so wonderful.

The first thing we did was drive a bit past the French Quarter and get some dinner.  We ended up across from Lake Pontchartrain so we had to run up the hill to see the lake.

After dinner, we drove back to the French Quarter and walked all over the place.  Then we walked up and down Bourbon Street.  Because of Covid, not much was going on.  It was dark but we felt fine being there.  We all stayed together and only ran across a few weirdos.  This city is a bit eery I do have to say.  I liked looking at my kids faces while we were walking around.  They were sure out of their safe bubble in Simi Valley hahahahahah.  I didn't count how many voodoo shops there were.  It was creepy!!

  1. I should have warned you about Bourbon Street, but at least it was a slow day. If you are back in the French quarter, go to the Roosevelt Hotel (Roosevelt Avenue off Canal Street) to see the beautiful Christmas displays in the lobby.
