Surgery Day for Graham
Yet another miracle in our lives
Surgery day looked like this: Graham and Scotty got up early and prepared Graham to go. He was instructed to shower with a certain type of soap and not to eat or drink after 8 AM. Before they left for the hospital, Scotty and Abe gave Graham a priesthood blessing. Then, they were off. . . . .
After Graham was sedated, the doctor did arthroscopic surgery on his knee to look at the ligaments that he had torn. The doctor looked at the first ligament and saw that it was indeed healing on its own just like he had predicted. Then the doctor looked at the Medial Meniscal Ligament. This was the one that doesn't heal on its own because there is little to no blood flow to it. Without blood flow, it can't heal. To the doctors surprise, the ligament was healing on its own!! He saw blood flow to the ligament!! At that point, the doctor ended the surgery deciding to let Grahams body heal itself. When the doctor informed Scotty of his findings, we knew that Graham's knee healing was another miracle/blessing from our Heavenly Father. The recovery should be easy and Graham is expected to heal with no more problems from those ligaments. Hosanna to God!!!!! As a family, you know what we did when we heard the news. Yes, we knelt in a prayer of gratitude for the blessings Graham had received.
When Graham was released from the hospital, he and Scotty made their way back to Abe's house. Graham was so lucky to spend the rest of the night with his cousins. We seriously love this family. They are so wonderful and are the best examples of charity!!!
They made this poster for Graham to have when he got home from the surgery!! Isn't that so sweet!!
Meanwhile back in Georgia. . . . .
The kids and I had a very exciting day. . . NOT. . .
We decided to make today a maintenance day. The kids did school most of the day. Asher finished two of the four classes he has. I am so impressed with him these days. He is finishing the semester with A's and one B. Ivy Tech has been such a blessing for him.
Pepper and Taj did their regular school work. Very exciting I know :)hahaha. Then at 3PM we left to go take care of Doug. He needed an oil change and I found a Ford dealership here that had an opening for the oil change. That was our day.
After the oil change we just went back to Homie and spent the night relaxing. Now we get to have fun since we worked hard today!!!! Tune in tomorrow for something fun!!!!
Georgia is beautiful. This was our drive to the dealership.
I was peaking in on Doug. He did a good job getting his oil changed. I know. I'm weird. He's part of the family now. He has safely driven us for 6 months around the US. We love him for that:))))
This was us waiting two hours for the oil change to be done. It was painful. Finally Pepper and I started playing tag in this room. At that point I think they started to hurry up and get Doug done just to get us out of there:))))
