Here are a few pictures super close to our campground. The Mississippi River is literally over the hill from us. There are Civil War signs all over the town. This whole place was the battle field. It has been really cool to be here.

Today we met the Lance's at the skate park here in town. The park is pretty cool. We spent easily 3 hours there. The sun was up and it was a comfortable 65 degrees. The Lance's have been a blessing to us. Besides family, friends are so important to us and we love all the friends we are making along the way!!
We at lunch outside next to Homie then left for our next adventure of the day!!
We went to the Lower Mississippi River Museum. This museum was very cool. There were two parts of it. First we got to explore an old boat that used to travel up and down the Mississippi carrying people. When we got on the ship, we realized that we were the only ones on the ship. What do you do when you are on a 5 story ship with no one else there??? You play hide and seek that's what you do!!!!! We played a mad game of hide and seek!!!!! Best place ever to play that game.

The second part of the museum was the indoor informative area. We learned how much the Mississippi River has changed over the years. We learned about flooding and how the Engineer Corps. handles it. We explored the animals that live in the river and also how the river has changed industries. The kids all enjoyed this museum. It's pretty cool!!

The museum closed so we went outside to walk around and see what we could find. There were quite a few Confederate signs in the area from the Siege of Vicksburg. There was a really cool mural wall that we walked along that explained the history of Vicksburg. There were also a few parks that we played at. Vicksburg is a cool little town with a great history.

This shows how high the water got on the different floods. This was crazy to me. The flood of 1927 was so bad.
Graham made paper airplanes and flew them all over. He's so cute.
I joined the race!!!
We ended the night with some service!!!
When I called the bishop of the ward to ask about church, I also asked him about an opportunity of service for his ward. He lined us up with a sister from Mexico named Amada who doesn't speak a lot of English. They asked us to do anything we wanted to do for her. So I called the missionaries and asked them to go meet her with us. We all showed up on her doorstep tonight around 7PM!!
We read scriptures about the birth of Christ from the New Testament. We watched a beautiful video about the birth of Christ. Then we sang Noche de Luz with her. We all bore testimony of our Savior and his love for her. It was so wonderful. Even though my kids didn't understand what was going on (we were all speaking Spanish) they still felt the spirit and were uplifted. Then when we left, we gave her a gift card to Walmart and a Nativity. She was so grateful. It was my favorite. It also made me really miss my mission but it made me more excited for the time when Scotty and I can serve a mission together!!!!
After the lesson, we took the Elders out for ice cream!!
