Sunday December 6, 2020 Church, Fast Sunday, Christmas Devotional and Traveling

We woke up to a beautiful Florida Sunday morning.
I understand why Snow Birds come here for the winter months.
 It's absolutely gorgeous.

Today is a travel day but we really wanted to go to church.  The ward here meats at 12 PM.  The bishop said we were welcome to go to their ward.  We worked it out that we could go to church then leave for our long drive.  That meant that we needed to pack up the trailer and have it all ready to go before church so that we could come back after and leave right away.  Scotty and I did most of the work while the kids slept in.  While we were doing the poop hose, Scotty found a lizard!!!   Hahahahah

Sunday's have come to be one of our favorite days on this trip.  As a family, we need the rest and we really enjoy going to church and meeting new people.  Pepper commented to me the other day that she loves Sundays because she feels the spirit and she really likes it.

Today is fast Sunday for our church world wide.  The first Sunday of each month is set aside for fasting and testimonies in our meetings.  Easily my favorite Sunday meetings.  We've tried hard to fast as a family each fast Sunday.  This fast Sunday we discussed what we were going to fast for.  We chose to fast for a few family things, one being for Graham and his surgery that is on Tuesday.  We also decided to fast for the leaders of our church and the leaders of our country. As a family we knelt down and prayed to start our fast.  We prayed that the spirit of Him would not cease to strive with the leaders of this country. We prayed that they would make the right decisions for our land.  It was very powerful to be kneeling together and to be pleading to the Lord for protection and His spirit to be with us.

If you've read the Book of Mormon then you know the story of a people that divided and battled each other for years and years.  In the end, they killed each other down to the last person.  They did this because of unrighteousness.  They stopped obeying God's commandments and they killed the prophets that came to warn them.  Eventually, the Lord's spirit couldn't stay with them.  They were so wicked that they had become past feeling.  The spirit ceased to strive with them.  God didn't leave them, they pushed him out.  In our family scripture study we have compared those days to our days.  I don't believe that the spirit has ceased to strive with many of us but I do believe that He has ceased to strive with some as they have a very unrighteous agenda.  We have made it a point to pray for our countries leaders because of this.  We love our country.  We love the beautiful lands that we have explored.  We love the history that we learned on the east coast.  This is truly a chosen land.
May God Bless the USA!

Here is what we have to travel by 12 PM tomorrow.  After driving 6 hours yesterday, we are tired.  Mind you, This drive will actually take us 6-8 hours easily because we have to drive slow and we need rest stops.  Our goal is to drive as much as we can today so that tomorrow our travel is light.  Scotty and Graham have to catch their flight to Virginia tomorrow for Grahams surgery that will be Tuesday.  I don't want them too tired.

We drove into Georgia on our way!!!

During the drive we were so blessed to watch the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional.  It was so beautiful.  The spirit was penetrating.  The music and the talks were just perfect.  I love the Christmas season and the extra focus on Christ.

At 10:30ish we drove into a Cracker Barrel in Macon GA.  They allow you to sleep in their parking lots for free.  We haven't stayed at a Cracker Barrel yet so we wanted to:))). We were all super tired but glad to have about 400 + miles behind us.  Scotty did a phenomenal job driving and the kids traveled really well.
Good Night!!!
