When I called the bishop yesterday of the Vicksburg ward, he informed me that they weren't having meetings because of Covid. We were totally prepared to have our own family church in the trailer. Then the Relief Society president of the ward called me and invited us to her house for a meeting and brunch. We were so in!!!! This morning at 10:30 AM we went to the Lance's house for a Sacrament Meeting. Asher got to bless the sacrament and Graham helped to pass it. Then we had brunch with them all. It was so wonderful. All the kids got along very well. We ended up staying three hours before I realized it. We all had a wonderful time. Thank you so much Lance family for opening up your home to us and for making us feel very welcome.

All the boys!
Anna just got back home from her mission in Vegas. We played the "Do you know" game and it actually worked!!! She knows my cousin Shelly that lives there in Vegas!!!! Small world in the church. That was a fun find.
When we arrived home, we changed our clothes and left to go drive through the Vicksburg National Military Park. The park is very much set up like Gettysburg. We stayed in the car most of the time, while viewing all the monuments erected in honor of those who fought in the siege. We jumped out to see some of the larger monuments. Apparently, the Siege of Vicksburg ended on the same weekend that Gettysburg ended. Both were key battles in the Civil War. It was sad to see the signs that explained that brother fought against brother and neighbor against neighbor. But that is the reality of the Civil War. The blue signs are from the Union and the red signs are from the Confederates.

The evening consisted of dinner and movies. I can't believe that this week is Christmas!! It is coming so fast. At the end of this month we will have been on the road for seven months. That marks our half way point. It's going way too fast. We are still loving our trip and enjoying all the things we are learning and how much we are all growing.

How wonderful that you were taken in by more “family “ from church. It’s wonderful following your adventures.
