Tuesday August 4, 2020 Asylum Indoor Skate Park

This morning on my run I got some great pictures of this beautiful place. We are in a small town named Union.  It is about 55 miles North West of Chicago.  I am nervous to drive my trailer in big cities so I decided to find campgrounds within an hour of the big cities on our trip. That way we can drive our truck into the city without worrying about maneuvering our huge trailer on small streets. There are a ton of corn fields here in Union. When I see them I can't help but wonder if they are GMO corn or not?????  Probably

This horse stopped eating to say good morning to me.

We have 4 days in this area to explore Chicago and the surrounding areas. The kids chose to spend today at an indoor skate park that they have heard great things about. It's called the Asylum Skate Park.   I have to admit, this place was great.  The park had something for everyone.  Each one of my kids had the perfect sized ramps for their levels. And, there was a cool upper deck area where I sat at a table and worked. Work????  Yes, I had to reserve campgrounds for January and I had to fix our Orlando plans. I was super proud of myself for puzzling everything together.  We now have our tickets with online reservations,  and our campground reservations for Disney World and the other parks.  We will be there in November.  It took all day to get it all ready. But, the situation was perfect.  The kids played and I worked.  It really was a great day.
Look at Pepper go!!!!!  I have to say I am so proud of her. She made a goal this week that had to do with skateboarding. She did it!!!! I had to take a lot of pictures of her because she did so good today.  I could see her confidence level sky rocket.  It was a great moment for her and I'm so glad that I was there to see it.

"Mom, I'm hungry".  Hahahaha  He's so funny

The locals were great here. Super nice and really cool to our kids.

We left around 6:30 PM.  Everyone was hungry and tired.  Then we got stuck behind this train for like 15 minutes.  It came to a stop. We were all like "really"? We finally got home and Scotty had made us tacos.  We ate and felt so much better:)  Fun day!!!!

Doesn't the flag look so cool here????

  1. Hi Guys, We are in Wisconsin now for a week. We are heading east to the Great Lake states. We always get campgrounds about 1/2 hour away from the big cities, then we always drive the truck to tour the surrounding areas. It’s nice leaving the RV in the parks. Have safe travels!
