Thursday August 20, 2020 Farewell Beautiful Nauvoo- Hola St. Louis Missouri!!

This morning we packed up the bikes and the trailer and drove out of Nauvoo.  I have to admit, I was super sad.  I felt real sadness to leave the temple and the beautiful lands that we had discovered. I guess I probably felt a fraction of what the saints felt when they left Nauvoo.   As we crossed the Missouri border I began to get excited about our next adventure.  Welcome to Missouri!!!!

I drove today because Scotty had to work.  I was totally OK until I had a mishap.  My RV App didn't have the exact street address of our campsite.  So I had the app route us to a nearby address.  I put my google maps on the exact address so I could follow it as well.  I like to have both maps on because they compliment each other.  Well, fast forward, I took a wrong turn onto a two lane road because I was confused. So much for having two maps. I'm hopeless.  I knew I had to make a U-Turn but I needed a safe  and large spot to do so.  Eventually I found an intersection that I could turn around in, but it was scary because the cars were going fast.  I had to back up a little to make the turn.  I slowly made a full U-Turn without blocking traffic.  It was way unnerving.  Then after that my maps started to go haywire and I had no idea where we were or where to go.  Scotty was on the phone so I had to be a big girl and figure it out.  Honestly, I had a little melt down.  Scotty saw that I was melting down and helped.  We got me back on the right road and with in 20 minutes we pulled into our KOA here in Eureka, Missouri.  Boy was I grateful to be done driving.                                                                                                                                                                                                       We are less then a mile from the 6 Flags over St. Louis.  Our campground is beautiful, as are all KOA's so far.  I didn't take many pictures because all we did today was unpack, school and dinner.  Then we all crashed.  Ohhhhhhh, I forgot to mention one important detail.  While I was driving, I was very irritated that I had to plan our fun around Grahams crazy school schedule.  Ashers schedule is easier than Grahams for some reason.  I decided that this trip is about getting out of "The Box".  I'm tired of having other people and things dictate my schedule.  I decided to pull Graham from Ivy Tech and add him to my private school that I am naming Freedom Learning!!!!  So now I am teaching the 3 younger kids and I'm excited!!!!
