Sunday August 30, 2020

Sunday morning breakfast was brought to you by Scotty boy LaBass!!!

Our family woke up today and took our time starting the day.  The ward here in Clinton MO wasn't having church because it was the 5th Sunday of the month.  That meant that we could do our own Sunday Church.  The kids basically chilled together all morning.  We ate our yummy breakfast that Scotty made.  He made fluffy pancakes, cheesy omelets and home made hash browns!! Yummy!!

Our ward back home held a zoom Sacrament meeting this morning so we joined it.  It was SO great to see the faces of our ward members that we love and miss.  The speakers were two new families that we haven't met.  Loved it all!!!

Our next campground was an hour from the church that we were staying at.  We left for our new campsite after church was over.  We drove an hour and arrived at our new. . . .. well. . . . it is a campground but it's much more ginormous then that.    It's called Lake Paradise Resort so I thought that it would be more like  a resort.  It is very beautiful but eerie at the same time. Not sure why??? There are ponds all around us and trails that weave in and out of the whole campground.                                                                              We pulled into our site and started the process of leveling the trailer.  I went to plug in the electricity and noticed that they only had a 30 amp power plug at our site.  I reserved a 50 amp site.  Our trailer won't completely work off of a 30 amp power supply.  Unfortunately for the guy working in the office,  I was super tired and a bit grouchy at this point. So, I sent Scotty up to talk to him.  Scotty handled the guy while I was on the phone. I was the one who made the reservations, therefore  I knew the details of it all, that's why Scotty wanted me on the phone.  The guy said that they didn't have a 50 amp spot that we could use.  Just for my readers info, I reserved a spot here 6 months ago that had 50 amps.  I even called last week to make sure everything was good and ready for us.  They must have messed up somewhere.    At that moment two thoughts went through my head; 1- I could throw a fit and say that I was responsible and was promised a 50 amp spot six months ago and they had better deliver, or 2- Put on my yellow personality hat and get creative and make it work with a smile on my face.  Which would you do????  hahhahahhaah. I know which one I wanted to do:O)                                                                                                   The facts were that they had no 50 amp spots for us and the price I payed was for the 30 amp so I wasn't over paying.  I thought for a moment and called a few campgrounds near by just to see if there was a better spot for us.  No campground close to us had availability.  Basically we were stuck here.  What did I do?????????.. . . . I put on my yellow personality hat and got creative. Scotty and I did our best to be positive.  We borrowed a 'pig tail' plug from the office to turn our 50 amp plug into a 30 amp.  We found out that out of our 3 A/C units, we can run one and sometimes two at the same time if I'm not doing laundry.  Long story short, we will be here living with 30 amps and we will still have fun and be happy.  And that's that!!!!!

After all the drama of the "amps", I looked at Asher and said, "I'm starving.  Will you make dinner"?  He didn't even hesitate, he made the family hamburgers and Graham jumped in and made dessert.  I love my boys.
