Graham went with me on my run today. Here are a few pictures of beautiful Indiana in the summer time. It is really flat here. There are no hills to run which is a huge change from Simi. In Simi, I had to run some serious hills just to get to my house:))) Secretly I am enjoying the "no hill" scene and the corn fields.

The kids and I spent today in Indi. Locals call Indianapolis "Indi", not Indianapolis. I love learning all the local jargon in different places. We spent about 2 hours in the city. Time was short because we wanted to get back to our campground for the games that the campground organizes. It was actually OK that we didn't have a ton of time. It was hot and humid so the kids wore down super fast. When we drove into Indi, I found a good place to park the truck by the center of the city. The plan was to walk and see as much of the city as we could. Indi has the coolest layout. It was designed to have all streets end up in the "center" of the city. A local explained it to me like this: If you can imagine the shape of the sun, there is the circle center and all the rays coming into the center. The "center" of town is literally a huge round-a-bout with a ginormous memorial to Indiana's war victims. The memorial is absolutely gorgeous. It has two waterfalls and lots of statues representing the "silent victims" of war. I was impressed. The streets in the city all lead back to the huge round-a-bout. So the layout looks like the shape of a sun. Cool right?? I didn't know that. We really enjoyed all the war memorials that they had there. One of the city libraries looked like the White House. There is also a really old section of the city that has tons of Victorian Style homes. They are huge and make me want to put on a beautiful hoop dress :)). After we left I felt like we didn't get to explore as much as I wanted. We will probably come back tomorrow with Scotty for more Indi:)))

Indi was pretty darn cool. We drove back to our campground for the night games that were planned. The kids played all night with friends. They swam, played basketball, ga ga ball, capture the flad, they rode bikes, jumped on the jump pad and then we all watched an outdoor movie. This campground is the most kid friendly campground we've been to yet. We love it. Each kid has had multiple kids their ages to hang with. They have really enjoyed having social time with other kids.

Fun day! Great scenery and architecture
