Saturday April 17, 2021 - Sequoia Nation Park!

Scotty got up and rode his bike into the park today.

Graham went with me on my run this morning.

After our exercise, we gathered up the family and left for our adventure in Sequoia NP!!!

The Sequoia's are ginormous!!!!!

This week was National Park week so if you went to a NP, you got in free!! I hope y'all got to go to a NP.  Because it was free, there were a ton of people there today.

Holy HUGE trees!!!!

We got to go see the General Sherman!!  This tree is the worlds largest tree.  It is measured in volume.  It stands 275 feet tall and is 36 feet in diameter at the base.  Oh man, this was cool.  We walked down a trail to get to the tree.  There were a lot of people there taking pictures by the tree so we had to wait in line but I had to get a picture in front of the tree.

There are countless other huge trees that we explored.  I was so amazed at the size of these things.  Just astonishing!!!

What's up with the towels?  Well, we didn't realize that we were going so high in elevation.  Down at the RV, it was 80 degrees.  Up here by the trees, it was in the low 60's. We got cold:)))

My whole family in a tree.  Seriously!!!!!

This is a no no. Do not graffiti up our National Parks.

Back flip!!!

More back flips!!

He's really giving us a lot of back flips today!!

Believe it or not, I ran into a friend today walking up the trail from the General Sherman.  I literally walked right into Warren Ward and his wife from Simi Valley CA.  Isn't that so funny??!!  We looked at each other and were in shock.  Like, "What are the chances" :)))

Sequoia NP had our attention well into the dark evening.  We finally left and were all starving regardless of our packed foods;)).  This yummy restaurant named River View, was on our way home so we stopped there for food.  Our seats were right on the river.  It was twilight so it is hard to tell in the pictures but the river was right there.  The food was DELICIOUS, or we were just starving:)))).

I saw this sign as we entered the restaurant.  Our kind of people!!!!

  2. It would have been a nice surprise running into you in Simi. But out here in Sequoia? That's just short of miraculous! Was awesome seeing you and the family. All the best for the rest of your travels.
