Tuesday April 27, 2021 - Oakland Temple - President and Hermana Hoopes!!!

This morning, Graham protected me while I went for a run.  We ran passed some of the homeless rv's so I could get some pictures.  We saw a lot of trash and a lady walking with a machete in her hand.  That was nice.

Here are a few pictures of the homeless rv's.

At least this one is fun!!

The whole area looks like this. Garbage everywhere.  Oh yeah, and did I mention that THERE WAS A LADY WALKING WITH A MACHETE IN HER HANDS???!! Who needs guns and gun laws, just get a freak'n sword.  Y'all are crazy.

Our campground didn't seem so bad after my run today.  I promise Dad, we were safe and stayed away from people.  All people.  Especially the ones that wear masks outdoors.  Hahahaha

After my run, we stayed in the trailer and did school most of the day.  Asher had state testing for school and my kids are basically down to Math.  We are almost done!!  It's exciting.

Around 3ish, we packed up and left to Oakland.  The temple in Oakland is a beacon of light and it's gorgeous.  Pepper took lots of pictures of the flowers planted on the temple grounds. I got a few.

Guess who lives 3 miles from the Oakland Temple??
President and Hermana Hoopes!!!

Back in 1999, I left for an 18 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Chile, Santiago South Mission.  President and Hermana Hoopes were my "mission parents/president".  Oh how I love them.  Now, 20+ years later, I got to see them and introduce them to my family!!!  They made us an incredibly yummy dinner/dessert then sent us home with left overs.  We talked all night into the late hours.  My kids didn't disappoint when it came to wrestling and getting dirty and being crazy.  It's a good thing that President and Hermana Hoopes had 7 children of their own.  Hahahahaha.  We had a wonderful evening and my heart was full of gratitude and joy that Heavenly Father had put them in my life.  I am a better person today because of these two people.

Here we are spending time with them!

They have a trampoline in the backyard that my kids played on most of the time.  Taj mastered his flips!!! Even with a little crack:))))

Books they suggested I should read!!  I can't wait!!

Taj got a hold of my phone and took some pictures.  He is so funny. I found these and had to post them.
