Wednesday April 14, 2021 - Our Prep Day to Head out Again

Hello Newbury Park!!

Today was a whirl wind.  Preparing to head back out on the road requited a lot of work.
We had to: Pick up Homie from Oxnard, Pack all the bikes and clothes and food back into Homie, Clean our mess out from Nana's house, Go to Costco for bulk items, Shop at Albertsons and Target for specific things we wanted and Asher had school to do today.  We didn't have enough time.

I have to tell you what happened with the trailer when we picked it up.  The dudes at the RV place said that when they went to re-pack the brakes, they discovered that out of the six brakes, three were working this whole time!!  Yup, you read that right.  Only three of the brakes on the trailer were engaging our entire trip.  Well, that explains a lot.  We couldn't figure out why it took so long for the trailer to slow down to a stop!!  We also couldn't figure out why we have already had to change out the brakes in our truck :))). Anyways, they fixed them all and now all six brakes are working.  When I drove the trailer back to Newbury Park, I was amazed at the difference.  When it was time to stop, the trailer stoped so much faster!!!!  Again, I believe that our guardian angels have been protecting us and helping by stopping  the trailer when needed.  I can't help but feel joy and love as I think of all the times God has sent his angles to help us.  Thank you to all who are praying for us on our journey!!

In the PM hours, Asher had an appointment to get his Patriarchal Blessing.  If you don't know what that is, it is a blessing that worthy members of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints receive that provides inspired direction from the Lord.  These blessings also declare a person's lineage in the house of Israel and contains personal counsel from the Lord.

Asher is now almost 17 and is preparing to serve a two year mission for our church.  Part of his preparation is to receive his blessing.  Scotty, Asher and I drove into Simi for the blessing.  What a sacred experience!  All the good feels were there: Peace, Joy, Reassurance, Love, Optimism and so many other fruits of the Spirit.  I am so proud of Asher and the choices he is making.  Good things ahead for this boy!!

After the blessing, my whole family including Nena and Bob, went out to Dinner at Stone Fire Grill!!  The food was delicious and we all felt so satisfied!!

Tomorrow we hit the road!!
Bob and Nena have been so gracious to let us crash at their place!  We didn't just crash there, we filled their garage with our bikes and a bunch of other stuff.  We also filled their rooms with our clothes and garbage.  Thank you LaBass'.  We love you.

The propane ran out while we were gone so we had to fill both tanks.

Here we are packing up Homie!!!

Pepper made her own flower hair barbet  by pining a bunch of flower peddles together.

Bob took Pepper and Taj to eat lunch with Nana at her work.

Yay for Stone Fire Grill!!!!
