Thursday November 26, 2020. Happy Thanksgiving!! Gators and the Beach!!

Good Morning from Fort Lauderdale!!
We are two and a half miles from the Fort Lauderdale temple.  We are so sad that it is closed.  Scotty and I are yearning to go back to the temple.  Our plan for this trip was to hit as many temples as we could and do baptisms with the boys.  Well, they are all closed so all we can do is take pictures in front of them.  I sure hope they open soon.

If you have ever seen Gator Boys then you know exactly why we were excited for today!!!!  Gator Boys is a show from Florida where they capture (wrestle) nuisance gators and relocate them or rehab them.  The Gator Boys location is right here in Fort Lauderdale!  They have a whole Everglades Holiday Park Experience that you can do.  We got to go on a fan boat tour (which was super cool) and see gators in the wild.  Then after the boat tour we got to see a demonstration from one of the Gator Boys!!!  Talk about an experience!!!!!  Enjoy the pictures!!!  We sure enjoyed this incredible experience.

Their parking lot flooded after the last storm they had here.

Our tour guide Jimbo!!!!!

Jimbo would feed the gators to keep them circling our boat.  It was seriously creepy.  At one point Taj looked at me and said, "That gator is terrifying me", in a very calm voice.  hahahahahah

Some of them got VERY close to our boat.  If we reached our arm out he could have ripped it off.  I'm glad that my teenagers didn't do that.  Phew!!!

Thanks Jimbo!!!!!

Jimbo and our fan boat.

We enjoyed our "bites".  Taj and Scotty ate frog legs.  Gross!!

Then we got to enjoy the Presentation from Kevin!!!

We got to hold a baby gator!!!!!!

Then it was off to the beach in Fort Lauderdale!!!
What a fun way to celebrate Thanksgiving!!!  The beach was again so beautiful and warm.  We stayed here until dark.

When it was dark we drove to Flanigan's for our Thanksgiving dinner.  It was yummy but it wasn't Red Nana's Thanksgiving dinner:). We missed all of our family today but we had fun bonding more over gators and sand!!!

  1. What a fun day! I am "thankful" you didn't have any gator incidents. Those creatures are HUGE even in your pictures. You will never forget this Thanksgiving.
