Thursday November 12, 2020 We Couldn't Get Out Fast Enough!!!

Rain, rain and more rain.  It was raining so hard that we had flash flood warnings all night.  I wanted out!! That is the best thing about living the way we do. . . . You don't like the weather. . . So, leave!!!!  In the morning, I had about an hour break in the rain so I went for a run.  Here are a few pictures of Four Oaks.  This place is defiantly  a "low income" area.

This is the bike shop that Taj called for a bike.  hahahah

When I got back from running, it had already started raining again.  Actually, it wasn't just raining, it was pouring rain.  Huge rain drops.  With in minutes, we had rivers running through our campground and under our trailer.   Normally this would be fine but the issue was that we had to pack all the bikes.  In the crazy rain, we packed up the bikes!!!  My favorite part was that Graham and Asher came out totally game to pack up the bikes and get drenched!!!  They worked super fast and by the time they were done, they looked as if they had jumped in the pool.  When we were done, Pepper and Taj told us that they were inside praying for us.  They are so sweet.  We had to pull out all the towels to dry everyone off and the floors.  What an adventure.

Then, as if that wasn't enough, we kept getting flash flood warnings for our area while the river that ran under our trailer got higher and higher.  Scotty and I had a couple choices here.  We could stay and wait out the storm and pray that we don't have a flash flood, or we could hook up and leave. We felt strongly that we needed to get out fast.  So, we hooked up the trailer and left as soon as we could.  We seriously could not get out fast enough.

Then our next adventure started. Driving in hurricane like rain.  I was driving because Scotty had to work. It was crazy!!!  My dad says that I am the best woman driver that he knows:))) hahaha.  I kept thinking that as I was tackling the storm while pulling my trailer.  I put my hazard lights on and drove about 45 - 50 miles per hour while the big trucks were flying past me. Those truck guys are crazy.  At times I couldn't see anything but parts of the white line on the right side of the road.  We said a family prayer that we'd make it out of the storm safely, and we did!!!  It took about 2 1/2 hours to get passed the storm.  I'm positive that all our guardian angels were working hard during the drive.  Actually, this whole trip they've been working hard. My dad said that they will need a vacation after our trip. ha hahahah

All the bikes in and packed.  Everything was so wet.

This was our Welcome to South Carolina sign.  You can't see it :(
We arrived at our campsite in South Carolina safely.  After the trailer was cleaned out and everything was outside drying, I went to bed.  I was so exhausted.  The kids went to bed shortly after me.  What a day!!!
