In Yorktown we learned about the American Revolution. I have to say, it is so interesting to learn about The Revolution. I think after this trip I want to become a History Buff!! hahaha. It seems to me that a lot of the emotions that lead to The Revolution and the Civil War are being felt today. It's so interesting. Here we had the same format as Yesterday. There was a great indoor museum that taught the history of what and why, and an outdoor area to learn about how the soldiers lived and how they got food. The movies that we watched in the museum were very informative. We got to see another demonstration of a musket being shot off, then we got to se them light a cannon. I thought the musket was loud!!! The cannon was deafening, but SO COOL!!!! The workers were extremely patient with our kids as they asked every question that came to their minds. These experiences will never be forgotten. Especially because we had the Rocks with us!!!
The Rocks made dinner for all of us tonight. It was amazing as always. Boy do they know how to cook good food!!! Then Allison surprised Pepper and Shayla with a birthday cake!! Their birthdays are days apart. Shayla gave Pepper a best friends necklace!! We feel so extremely blessed to have been able to meet the Rocks. Nathan and Allison, We love you all!!!
Now this was the best part of the day!!!!! We locked all the kids in the LaBass trailer with a movie and games. Then Allison, Nathan, Scotty and I sat around a fire at the Rocks trailer and we talked and had the best adult time ever!!! How did we get so lucky???

You are so blessed! Wow, I love seeing all the historical sites. The picture of the uniforms just struck me. It reminded me of "Gone with the Wind" and some other films where the soldiers look so handsome and are so proud to wear their uniforms--before they get dirty, soiled, and torn doing the job that they are called up to do. 😢 I can't wait to hear the next installment.
