This morning was sad :(. We knew we had to say goodbye to the Rock family so we decided to go play one more time with them!! Breakfast Baby!!!
After breakfast, both parties rushed to pack up and check out by 12 PM. Little did we know that check out was actually at 11 AM. Oops. This picture was our last goodbye picture. We had so much fun with our new family!! Thank you Rock family for being so cool and allowing us to be part of your family.
The Rocks drove all the way to Ohio and we drove to Stafford VA to hang with Isaac and Nadia for a couple of days. They live in a great cul-de-sac. We backed into a space by their house and set up camp. This was by far the hardest back up we've done. We had to go back and forth many times to make the trailer fit in the space. But we did it!!!!
The cousins immediately started playing together and bonding. This trip has been so magical for my kids. They have met so many cousins that they didn't know they had. They have bonded tightly with them and I hope they continue to stay close to them even though we live so far away from them.
We didn't waste any time. We headed right out to explore. Nadia and Isaac took us to Chatham Manor. Chatham Manor was built by William Fitzhugh during the years 1768-1771. During the Civil War it played a vital role as a Union headquarters, hospital and soup kitchen. The ridge was lined by artillery during the Fredericksburg Campaign. This place was gorgeous.
Our next stop for the night was Fredericksburg. We got to walk down town and enjoy the night life. As you can see, this town is amazing and it has such a rich history in the Civil War times. The Battle of Fredericksburg in 1862 was one of the most significant battles of the war. It was a battle with many Union casualties, the largest river crossing of the war, and it also acted as a boost for the Confederate hopes of victory. Cool right?!!!???
