Tuesday September 22, 2020 - The Rock's and the Blakes

This morning I talked Scotty into running with me. He is such a great sport.  He'd rather ride, but he knows that I love to run so he went with me today!!!  He loves me.

This morning was very productive.  The kids did all their school work. Then I had time to clean the trailer and do laundry. Pepper and I even had time to go food shopping.  We have plans to play all night tonight so I felt like now was the time to get all the "pre-travel" stuff done. Tomorrow we leave for Niagara Falls.                                                                                                   When school was done the kids went outside to play while they waited for the Rock family to come hang with us.  Allison and I had planned for them to come to our campground today to take advantage of the cool things to do.                                                                                              Allison and her kids came for about 2-3 hours, and the kids played all afternoon.   It was so easy to have them with us.  The kids got along incredibly well with no issues and they seemed to play with each other as if they have known each other for years. It was a little weird how easy we all meshed. I really feel like we found our long lost friends that we didn't know were lost.

The kids were in the lake playing on the water toys even though the water was freezing cold.  I had just as much fun watching them as they did playing.  They were so adorable and funny to watch. Allison and I had perma grins while they were playing in the water.

We made plans again to go eat dinner at the Rocks house with the Blake family. Today was our last day here in Kirtland.  Normally we would have tried to go see a few more church history sites or explore Cleveland.  We had no desire to do any of those things because we wanted to spend time with theses two families. The Rock's and the Blakes have been so good to us. We bonded so fast and we weren't ready to say goodbye to them. So we spent our last night here with them.  We laughed and talked all night, way too late.  We left after 11 PM I think.  But we were so sad to be leaving our newly found friends.

Allison gave me her beautiful string art of the Kirtland Temple as a memory of them and our time with them. My heart about burst with gratitude.   I will never forget these people. I hope and pray that we can make our paths cross again soon.
