Happy Day at the Arc Encounter!!!!! A life size arc!!!! Seriously!!! This place surprised me. I thought maybe it would have some cool ideas of how Noah built his arc and how he housed all the animals. I had no idea how much depth the museum would go into the bible and how Noah fed and cared for the animals and his family. If any of you are ever in Kentucky, you have to visit this place. There are three levels in the arc and many outdoor activities. I am so glad that we made this stop. Everyone enjoyed this adventure. When we arrived at the Arc Encounter, we parked our truck and jumped on a bus. You have to ride the bus to get to the arc. No one can drive up to it.

When the bus dropped us off we were blown away at the size of this thing.  Holy Huge!!!!  It took the builder 6 years to build this arc.  Much faster then Noah:)) It took Noah 75 years, ish, to finish the arc and get it all ready for the animals.

The walkway to enter the arc is lined with stones that give the history of the bible and the earth on them.  Lots of thought and work went into this place.

Once we entered the arc, they sent us up to the first level which is the lowest level.  The man who designed this basically guessed what Noah did.  He used information from the time that Noah lived in to guess how Noah planned and executed the arc.  The lower level in this arc had cages for all the smaller animals.  There were also many places for animal  food and water storage.   They had a sign that stated that Noah had many species of dinosaurs on the arc.  Not sure carbon dating would agree with that but hey,  it's kind of fun to think that maybe he did.

Then we walked up a few ramps to get to the second level or middle level.  They think that Noah housed all the larger animals here.

After a short walk up more ramps we explored the creation of the world on the third or top level.  It was interesting to me how these people explained the creation.  They mainly focused on the sin of man and how God had to destroy the wicked people of the earth.  That is why the earth was flooded.  There was no  mention of Christ and his atonement for sin.  Man was portrayed as sinful and evil.  How depressing is that??  Where is the love and the hope?  Anyways, it was interesting none the less.  The living quarters for Noah and his family were on this level as well.   They showed how they grew vegetables and how they lived in their separate quarters.  At the very end of the tour, there was this 15 foot time line of the earth.  It included all the prophets in the Old and New Testament along with Christ's coming.  I couldn't help myself.  I bought a copy of it to hang in my house when we get back home.

There is a great zoo outside of the arc.  We didn't spend too much time there because the park was closing and we had to hurry through it.  Their camels were my favorite.

These two cuties behind us on the bus were so fun to talk to.  Meet Carol and Fred Schlup from Missouri!!!   God bless your family!!!

Hi Carol and Fred. You have been blessed today.
ReplyDeleteWow! Fascinating. Did you review the scriptures before you went? I bet you'll have a lot to discuss on Sunday. Food for thought (no pun intended) - it never crossed my mind that Noah would have grown food while aboard the Ark.
