Friday July 17, 2020 Goodbye Dawson N. Dakota, Hello Vergus Minnesota

This morning we woke up early and drove 4 hours east to Vergus Minnesota.  Before we leave Dawson behind, I want to post some of the pictures we took there.  The town is so small but so simple.  I loved the simplicity of it.

We crossed the state line and cheered as we entered a new state.  The exciting thing about entering a new state is that we get to put a new sticker on our map:)  Minnesota is full of bodies of water, everywhere. It's crazy.  They have so much water.  In fact, it's raining as I write this.  Everything is so green.  As we drove into our new campsite, we realized that we are parking on farm land!!!  There really aren't animals but tons of fields.  We are in another small town called Vergus. This stop was meant to be a midway stop between Dawson and Voyageurs NP.   We will hang here until Monday and explore the main city named Detroit Lakes.
Here are pictures of the land we are parked on.,

This is the view from the back of our trailer. So beautiful.  Look at our backyard!!!!
Us hanging out waiting for Scotty to finish working so we could go play in Detroit Lakes.

We found a skate park in Detroit Lakes so that was the first thing we did.  The park was ok.  The kids didn't do too much while we were there.

After the skate park, we walked one block and played on the beach of Detroit Lake.  This lake was so beautiful.  The water was warm and the kids played on their tubes in the water.  It wasn't hot so we sat on the beach and seriously enjoyed the afternoon.

For dinner we went to a recommendation from a local. Apparently here in Minnesota, the people replace the S in words for the Z sound.  So this restaurant kind of makes fun of that.    All the S's on the menu were replaced with Z's.  It was funny.  The food wasn't anything to write home about. We actually were wishing that we could have eaten at Sharky's.  :(
