Today was an important day in our journey. We officially entered the first state that no one in our family has ever been to, South Dakota. We were so excited!!! Well...... I was excited. Scotty was working and all the kids were asleep. I celebrated by myself quietly as to not disturb Scotty. hahahahah We left Casper around 6 AM and headed toward South Dakota. The drive was easy because the roads were well paved and not bumpy. When it's bumpy, we have to drive slower. Why? Because our trailer is already experiencing a massive earthquake every time we take it out on the road. The bumps make it so much worse. Going slow makes a 7.0 earthquake more like a 5.0 earthquake. Our poor trailer. I hope it makes it to the end of our trip. Driving into South Dakota was impressive. It was as if someone turned on a green light. Everything is green here. Even the weeds are green. The rolling hills are all super green and the "mountains" are lined with beautiful green trees. So, so inviting and beautiful.

We took a break during the drive and parked our trailer next to all the semi's. hahahha Joining the semi club:)))
Gotta love this kid We arrived at our campground at check in time, 1 PM. This campground is really well kept and very beautiful. We are located about 30 minutes from Mt. Rushmore.

We have 5 different maps to track our journey in the trailer. Here are two. I am tracking the roads we drive on on the first map. The second map tracks the states we have been to. We've covered some substantial ground in our first month. Loving this:))
After we set up the trailer, I took the truck into the local Ford dealer here for a regular check up. I also had to make another appointment for this Friday to get the breaks checked. After the appointment we went and walked around Cabellas. It's always fun to go there. If you know Pepper then you know that she loves polar bears. She was in heaven when she saw the polar bears. Then we headed back to our campground to play at the park.

Taj found a toad. He had to touch it.

We played games then went out for a walk to buy firewood to make a fire. We all wanted to roast our hot dogs on the fire tonight. It was a bit windy so we had a hard time getting the fire to start. Once it got started we enjoyed the fire all night. What a lovely night.
