Tuesday July 28, 2020 Goodbye Duluth Hello Munising Michigan

Today we woke up at 4:30 AM and left our beautiful campground in Duluth. We drove eight hours to our new destination of Munising, Michigan. Welcome to Pure Michigan!!!!! We passed through another time zone so now there’s a three hour difference between us and California. Our body clocks are so messed up:))) Look at this amazing sunrise over our trailer.  I love Minnesota.  If the winters weren't so cold I'd think about moving here.

                                                                                              Lake Superior!!!
When we drove into the KOA of Munising we were not disappointed.    The campground is beautiful.  There are trees everywhere and lots of space.  We loved it so much that we called the office to see if we could stay one extra night.  Unfortunately they were full so we decided to make the most of our short stay and do as much as possible.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Taj found an inchworm that he named Inchy and made it a home in my kitchen cup :)))). I've never seen him so excited about a pet.  I guess we will have to get him a pet when we get back :))))))))).  Scotty will love that!!!

We unpacked really fast and decided to go explore the city of Munising. I looked at the map that the KOA had given us and noticed that there were like 10 waterfalls close to the city.  We decided to go chase waterfalls!!!!   The first waterfall we found was absolutely gorgeous. We had to hike about a mile to find it, but the hike was very easy. The waterfall was really tall and skinny and long. The kids had a blast hiking around and exploring all the different sands and rocks.   One lady walked past us on the trail and I heard her say to her husband, “ How are we supposed to social distance on this trail”.  I looked at her and said, “Good luck with that”,  and she just turned around the other way and tried to hide her face so she couldn’t breathe my air. It was kind of funny.

After we were done chasing waterfalls the kids decided that they wanted to go check out a mountain bike park that we found. We parked the truck at the park and ran up the trail about a mile just to check it out. We all decided that it was definitely worth coming back with our bikes so we ran down to the truck and drove home to get our bikes and Scotty. We returned with all of our bikes and helmets and spent the rest of the evening riding on the trails. Everybody rode their bikes but I ran the trails chasing Pepper  and Taj. It was the most fun that we have had on trails before. The trails were absolutely beautiful

  1. Wow! Gorgeous scenery, and I love the wooden plank trail. Your California rudeness was showing to the lady who was worried about social-distancing. Haha! Did she think about that before she left home? Ooops
