Tuesday June 1, 2021 - Strawberries and Salmon Creek Park

STRAWBERRIES!

This morning, Kim and I took the kids strawberry picking.  There is a "U-Pick" field  two miles away from Marks house.  The kids picked for about an hour.  They were so excited about it, that they had to show us almost every strawberry that they picked.  It was so funny. Kim and I were cracking up at how excited the kids were.  We had grand plans to make strawberry shortcake later, but, it got super hot and Kim and I were like, nah.  So we cut up most of them and froze them for future goodness!!

At one point, my car said it was 100 degrees outside.  Oh man it was hot.  I found a small creek that the kids could beat the heat in so I took them there to play in the water.  They said that the water was dirty but still fun to splash each other and to cool off.

On the way home, we stopped for shaved ice.  Yummy!!

The rest of the evening was spent playing games.  Kim and I made tacos for dinner.  Another fun day.

Around 9:30 PM, we jumped in the car and drove about 5 minutes away.  Our friends, the Hawkins from Newbury Park, have a son (Marshall) here in Vancouver serving a two year mission.  We were so close to him that we had to take ice cream over for him and all the elders that live with him.  Meet Elder Hawkins!! His dad Mark gave us his address.  He was so sweet and excited to see us:)))
