Asher joined me on my run today around the lake. I will miss running here. It's been so great for my running health;))
Around noonish, we left to drive down to Crater Lake - the whole reason why we planned this stop. It is still snowy up here so the North entrance is closed. We had to drive an hour and a half to the south entrance. The drive was actually really fast and the trees that lined the streets were glorious.
Once we got in the park, we stopped at the souvenir shop to get our stuff;))

Then we walked over to the crater to see the lake. The day was extremely cold and snowy. At first, we got a great view of the lake, then a snow storm rolled in and it was hard to see anything. Most of the roads around the crater are closed to cars so we literally only had about two places we could go to see the lake. There were no hikes we could do to go down to the lake because of the snow. It was a bummer that our experience was only looking at the lake, but at least we got to see it. The water was the most bluest of the blues we've ever seen.

On the way home, we saw a rainbow;)). It was a long driving day just to look at the water, but at least we can check this NP off of our list. We need to come back in July or August. We stopped to get gas on the way home. There was a Subway at the gas station. The kids were hungry so we got them all sandwiches. Behind us in line, there was a lady with her young baby. She was very nice and told us that she had just purchased an older bus. She is going to fix it up and live in it. Asher whispered to me that we should buy her sandwich. So we secretly bought her sandwich then left. We Love and Serve! Good job Asher!
