Wednesday May 12, 2021 Subway Lava Tubes and Burney Falls

Scriptures and school looked like this today.  Outdoor school!!!  We are winding down and almost done.  Next week is our last week of school!!!! Yay!!!!

Taj was helping Scotty work today;)))

Scotty got a bike ride in!

Subway Lava Tubes

Lassen Volcano created lava tubes and we went to explore them!!  These tubes are self guided. You have to bring your own lights and good shoes to walk in.  They were about 48 degrees and pitch black.  The ground that we walked on reminded me of a serrated knife.  It was very bumpy and sharp.  Don't worry,  it can't cut your shoes:))

This was the entrance.

We brought flash lights.  Look how cool these tubes are!!! The kids were funny.  They all had their own lights so you could see lights dancing on the walls as they ran through the tubes.

Look at the ground in this one.

This is the map of the tube.

Close to the lava tubes was Burney Falls.  We drove up to check out the falls and we were so glad that we did.  They were fantastic!!!  We walked  a short 1 mile loop to observe the falls.

Seriously.  Nature is amazing!!

The best dad ever.  Here is scotty reaching over an edge to get a flower for Pepper.

Here he is giving it to her.  Lucky girl right?!!

The flower and a happy girl that knows that her dad loves her.

Pepper took some pictures in the car.  Silly girl

The sunset that we enjoyed on our way home!  This part of California is spectacular.  Just amazing.
