Monday March 15, 2021 - South Kaibab Trail - Deeper!!!

I LOVE RUNNING AT THE Grand Canyon!!!!

Graham, Pepper and I walked down to the General Store this morning.   Elk were everywhere.  Today is warmer than yesterday!! Yay!!!!!    At the General Store, we got treats!!  Just for fun and to get us through school for the day.  

Taj took my phone and took a picture of his writing today.  Silly boy!!

Hello Grand Canyon!!!  No filter needed.  

Scotty, Asher and I really wanted to hike down the South Kaibab Trail.  Graham had no desire to go so he volunteered to stay with the kids while we went.  From our campground, we had to walk a mile up to grab the shuttle.  The shuttle dumped us out right at the trial head.  

The warm sun melted most of the ice that we had yesterday on this trial.  We basically ran down the trial!!  Time was a factor today.  We hit the trial and only had about 2 1/2 hours of day light.  I tried my best to keep up with Scotty and Asher and their long legs :))

See the switch backs on this picture?  We went down those and then around the mountain.  At that point we had gone 2 1/2 miles and we needed to head back up.  

The flip!!!  The hike was astonishing and bewildering!!  We loved it!!  Scotty and I are planning another trip back here next year when we can do the Rim to Rim trail!!  For now, we are grateful that we got to explore this trail more!! We are in Heaven here.
