This is Meteor Crater National Landmark

We had a bright, blue sky kind of morning!!  Sunny days are my favorite!!  

Pati took the kids out for breakfast and they took pictures with dinosaurs!!

Most of the campgrounds that we stay at have these cute cabins that you can rent instead of getting a hotel.  When Pati said she was going to come hang with us, I told her to get a cabin.  Here is her cabin.  It's adorable and comfortable!!

Meteor Crater National Landmark is about an hour west of where we are.  It was worth the drive to go see it.  This thing was cool.  A meteor that was about 1/3 the size of this hole, hit here a long time ago.  Most of  the meteor dissolved or broke apart on impact.  

This is a large piece from the original meteor that hit this spot.  We were able to touch it.  They dated this back to almost about the time that our galaxy was created.  So we touched the oldest thing that we ever will in our lives!!!  

It was super windy so the tour that takes you to a different point on the crater wasn't going. We still felt like we got to see this incredible landmark and soak it in.  Can you imagine seeing a meteor fall and hit the earth???  

It was lunch time so we all ate our sack lunches together after hitting up the gift shop!!

Pati drove home straight from the crater.  She had to get back to work.  Having her join us made me so happy.  She is family and I loved playing with her!!!  My parents and my family drove back home for dinner.  My wonderful parents gave me a break and bought the kids pizza and let Scotty and I go out for another date night!  Thank you Mom and Dad!! 

Scotty and I went to a local joint.  The food was delicious and we enjoyed our time alone!!
