For my birthday in years past, I've tried to run a marathon to celebrate.  This year (obviously) I can't do that.  There was no way I could have trained for that distance while traveling with my family.  So. . instead. . I went for a fantastic 6 mile run and listened to Conference and loved the whole thing!!!  When I got home, I opened the door and to my surprise, Scotty and the kids had decorated the trailer with balloons and streamers.  They sang happy birthday and gave me all their cards. It was perfect.  I felt so loved and special!!
The kids and I worked really hard to finish school for the week today and we did it!!!  No school tomorrow!!!
After school we went to the mall.  I've had my eyes on some Dr. Martens that I wanted.  We found the perfect pair!!  We ate cookies and the boys also got new church clothes.  They out grew theirs like 3 months ago:)). Why are they growing so fast???!!!

To finish off the night, we were invited over to the Perry's house for dinner.  That is the family that we've been  bike riding with.  They are a gem.  I love them.  Jessica (the mom) made like 9 Sicilian pizzas for us tonight. (We are both Italian:)) They were amazing.  Then she surprised me with a delicious, moist chocolate coconut cake for my bday.  I almost cried.  It was such an amazing night.  I am so grateful for the family that the church has given us on our trip.  Members of our church have been so gracious and loving to us everywhere we've been.  I hope to always pay this forward and follow their examples.

Ah, thanks for the nod on the poem.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a great birthday from start to finish with family and friends.
The Bishop's message today include 5 years of ward histories. It was fun to see pictures of your family in ward activities, priesthood advancements and scout activities, Pepper's baptism, and more, and of course dear Barbara S.
