Friday January 8 , 2021 Crater of Diamonds State Park Arkansas!! Dig, Dig, Dig

This morning I woke up to these cute feet.  I remember when my kids were babies and I loved taking pictures of their feet because they were so small.  Here is my Taj with his cute feet all colored.  This cracked me up because yesterday he was finger painting.  I made sure to put him in the shower to get all the paint off of him.  Apparently, we totally missed his feet.  Hahahahah.

Scotty ran with me today.  We ran up to Crater of Diamonds State Park.  Then we ran over to the campground and on a trail that we found there.  It was a beautiful run.  We talked and laughed.  It was so nice to be alone:)))

Here are a few pictures of the campground at the state park.  It's super nice.

This is the campground that we are currently staying at.  It's definitely safe, just trashy:))

Today we got to go dig for diamonds!  Taj has been asking for a long time, "When do we get to dig for diamonds"?  Today Taj:)))). Our friend Aimee told us about a lady who makes the screens to help you find the diamonds. Her business is called LoveJoy.  We rented a wagon and other tools necessary to dig from her.
We watched videos on how to find the diamonds. We drove in and were determined to find diamonds!!!

This is the crater!!!

Here we are digging.  The process was a bit tedious.  First you have to dig in the mud and put mud into your bucket.  Then you take the bucket over to the water to sift through everything (just like panning for gold).  Then if you find anything, the state park will certify your diamond!!

It was freezing!!  We were cold and wet.  The kids only lasted a few hours.  I could have stayed all day but after the kids were sopping wet, I knew it was time to go.

We didn't find a diamond (we were sad about that) but we found some quartz!!!  All in all, I would totally come back and stay a few days digging.  It was fun.  Taj loved to dig.  He just loves to get dirty!  Graham and I agreed that we have never seen Asher so focused:)))).

Back at Homie, we did school!!!  All four kids finished school focused!!  hahahah
Taj is so focused here!!!

Pepper FaceTimed Sophie Rock from Ohio!!  We love her

Later we drove around the cute small town of Murfreesboro.  We had a great day even though we didn't find any diamonds to pay for the trip :))) hahahah
