Thursday finally came!! We have been waiting all week to take Graham to the doctor to see what he did to his knee. He hasn't been able to walk on it all week and still has lots of pain. Dr. Gavin was the Ortho that we went to see today. He was GREAT!! He was very thorough and you could tell that he knew what he was doing. By the end of the appointment, he confirmed that Graham had sprained his Medial Crucial Ligament. He couldn't do any tests on the ACL because Graham was way too sore. His feeling was that the ACL was OK but he suggested an MRI just to be certain.
The lady at the front desk who was helping me get an appointment for the MRI, said that every place near here was 3 weeks out. I knew that it would be hard to get an appointment. Graham and I silently prayed that some how he would be able to get an appointment. After about 15 minutes, the the lady had found us an appointment tonight at 8 PM. Hello blessings!!! Not only did we get an appointment with an Ortho while in this area, we were able to get an appointment for an MRI the same day. Graham and I both felt so blessed. As we walked out of the office with our good news, Graham said, "Do I taste mint? Because this has been a life savor"! hahahahah I died laughing. He totally has my dads humor. Tonight at 8 PM we will get his MRI!!
After the appointment this morning, we packed up the family and went to Udar-Hazy. It is pronounced OO-d-var - Ha - Zi. I have practiced saying it like 50 times. Udvar-Hazy is part of the Smithsonian museums. It is the Air and Space Museum here. This place was cool!!!
There were large TV's placed in different areas. Museum volunteers were video calling from their homes, there to answer any questions we had. We loved talking to them and asking them questions, learning from their answers. What a brilliant idea to have these guys video call in to give us information!!
The Discovery Space Shuttle.
This is the third space shuttle we have seen. We saw the Endeavor in L.A. The Enterprise in Manhattan. Now the Discovery in Virginia. The Columbia was the first shuttle. It disintegrated upon entrance into the earths atmosphere. The Challenger is the one that blew up on January 28, 1986 - my birthday. The last one we can go see is the Atlantis in Florida. We are totally going to see it. After that, we will have seen all four space shuttles in their final resting places!!
This guy was great. He explained why the flag is painted backwards on the space shuttle. It's because when the wind blows, the flag waves backwards. He also explained about the black plates on the space shuttle that protect it from heat when the shuttle enters the earths atmosphere.
When we were back at home, we ate dinner and carved pumpkins.
At 7:15 - ish, I took Graham to his appointment. Here he is, in the room to get his MRI. We should find out tomorrow the results.

Such an amazing museum. Thanks for the fun fact about why the flag "flies" backward. Prayers and more prayers that all is well with Graham. What a miracle that he could get his tests today!
