Hello Philadelphia!!!
This stop was short because it was meant to be a midway point to Virginia. Our day was spent doing school work and “To Do’s”. Around 2 PM we were free to drive into Philadelphia to explore!!!
On our way to Philadelphia we crossed over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge!!
Our first stop was to go see the Liberty Bell. We had to pack the truck in a parking garage and that is always very tricky. Fortunately, this parking garage had a special place for our truck to park.
To go see the Liberty Bell, you have the opportunity to walk through a museum that tells the history of the bell. It also talks about what was going on in the US and why the Liberty Bell represents freedom for us today. Again it was super interesting to learn more of the history of our country. We learned that the bell cracked while someone was ringing it and it has never sounded again. The reason that the Liberty Bell cracked was because it’s made up of many different types of metals. The metals didn’t bond together well and so it was inevitable that the bell would break at one point. They were lucky to get 1000 years of use out of the bell. The Liberty Bell weighs 2000 pounds. The bell that replaced the Liberty Bell weighs 13,000 pounds. The bell ring loud and clear on July 4, 1774, telling everyone that freedom was theirs.
Benjamin Franklin showed up so we could take a picture with him

We were told that Oh Brother was the best place to go and get a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. These sandwiches did not disappoint. They were the tastiest things we’ve eaten in a long time. The lady that owns a shop was so cool. After our meal she came out and brought us free fried Oreo cookies. If you’re ever in Philadelphia go eat at Oh Brother!!!!
To work off the food, we headed over to a skatepark in Philadelphia. The skatepark was right across the street from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It’s more of a street spot instead of a traditional skatepark. They kids seem to have fun anyways
Our last stop in Philadelphia was to go by the temple. Just like other temples I’ve seen, this temple is on a busy street. It stands beautiful and bright for everyone to see.
When we came back to the trailer Pepper and I decided to do our nails. The boys packed up the bikes because tomorrow we drive all the way to Virginia. We will be visiting my cousin Abraham and Washington DC.

Oh, my heart! You guys are si fit you can afford deep fried Oreos. 😮🤣
ReplyDeleteI’ve never been to Philadelphia. The temple is beautiful.
