Friday October 9, 2020 More Boston

We had to go back to Boston on our last day here.  We could have easily spent another week here and had plenty to do.  I have to say, this Boston experience has been so magical, unlike the other times I have been here.  Usually the people are so rude and short.  This trip they have been kind and loving. I wonder if it's because during the Boston Marathon, there is such a large influx of people who have no idea how to use the public transportation and other aspects of the city.  It must be annoying to the locals to have so many people crowd their city.  Any who, we had a wonderful experience and I will  be sad to leave here.

Our first stop today was to the Fairbanks House.  The Fairbanks House is in Dedham, MA and is the oldest known wood structure still standing in North America.  It was built in 1673 for Jonathan and Grace Fairbanks and their 6 children. It was home to eight generations of the Fairbanks family over the course of 268 years.  Scotty's mom is a Fairbanks.  We had to see and enjoy our family history!

The LDS temple was our next stop.  The last time Scotty and I were here, we were able to go in and do some work.  This time we all stood outside and soaked in the beauty and the spirit of this building.  All temples are so breath taking.

Harvard has a really cool park that we visited next.  They have a cement pump track.  This place was a hit.  The kids literally rode there for hours.  It was dark before we left.  The locals were so cool and they took our kids into their groups and said so many kind things to them. Some took videos, others formed trick lines.  There was a guy there who was a retired pro BMX guy.  He was so nice to my boys. He rode with Graham and connected their Insta accounts.  I sat with the moms and did the mom chat thing.  hahahha.  Pepper and Taj rode the entire time.  They never stopped.  I imagine everyone will be sore tomorrow.  The locals even invited the kids to a different park for a "lights on" night.

En route to the next skate park, we drove by the hotel that Scotty and I stayed at the last time I ran Boston.  How funny to be at the same spot.  This time with my whole family on an awesome adventure.

Lynch Family Skate Park.  Apparently, this is a famous skate park.  The park was under a bridge. Isn't that a cool spot for a skate park?  Asher was super excited to experience it.  When Asher was riding, these kids came up to him and recognized him from Instagram.  hahhaha.  He's famous.  They follow him and totally knew who he was.  How cool is that to be recognized at a famous skate park in Boston.   The kids rode until they were freezing and starving.  We then left for our hour trek back home.

On the way home we stopped for gas and food.  Burger King never tasted so good.  hahhaha  We needed the calories because we had to pack up the trailer when we got home.  Tomorrow is a travel day.  We are headed to Maine and I am so excited to eat lobster.  Not really.  I hate sea food.  hahahhah But I promised myself that I would eat lobster while we were in Maine.

  1. Hey, I don't know where you are, but if you're near Kittery, MA, go to Warren's Lobster House and Candy Store. They have a buffet and regular meals, but the lobster chowder is to die for AND the portions are huge, so watch out.

Loved your last night in Boston. Can you imagine all those kids musing today that they met the famous LaBass kids? :)

Marlund and I drove by the LA temple the other day. Sadly, it's still closed. We can honestly sing "I love to see the temple. I'm going their someday."
