This morning on my run I found dinosaur tracks!!!!

We were crazy today!!!! We hit a state park and a national park. Now we all want to chill. Tomorrow is our last day here in Moab and we feel like we haven't had enough time to do all that Moab has to offer. So you know what that means. .. . . we so totally have to come back!!!! We started the day off at Dead Horse State Park. We looked really hard and never found a dead horse. Hummmm so why did they name it Dead Horse???? I'm sure if I did some research I could answer that:). Dead Horse had some beautiful and easy hikes. We hiked up until we could see the Colorado River running in a horse shoe pattern. This was spectacular!!! We stared at it for like 5 minutes without saying a word. Everyone was taking in the beauty of it.

After Dead Horse, we drove about 8 miles to Canyon Lands!!! We did 2 things here. First we did this Mesa Arch hike. The arch was hanging over this huge ledge. It was super amazing and we all sat down by it and ate lunch. Then we drove up to Grand Point View so we could see the canyon in all its hugeness. This canyon is HUGE. I had no idea how huge it really was. We were seriously 500,000 miles up on this ledge (maybe more) and then there was a cliff of sudden death on the one side. I'm not usually worried about my kids running around and being crazy, but this scared me. I could see Taj trip, roll off the ledge and splat 500,000 miles down in the canyon. OOF. So can you guess what my kids were doing by this deathly ledge??? Yup, they were jumping off rocks, running around, climbing everything they could see, playing parkour, throwing big huge rocks off the cliff so they could see how long it took to hit the bottom and making me super nervous. It was a good time for all :)hahaha. We managed to keep Taj safe and had a blast. We live in such a beautiful world.

Picture of Taj in the tree gets best picture award.
ReplyDeleteAs i was reading about the 500,000 ledge and the kids falling off. It reminded me of my dream last night where i was forced to sing the National Anthem. Very upsetting due to the fact I can't sing.
