This morning we traveled from Billings, Montana to Devils Tower, Wyoming!! Our travel time was around 4 hours. The drive was easy and we didn't have to stop for Scotty to work, only for pit stops:))). We are again at a KOA. This KOA is literally at the base of Devils Tower. The view is amazing.
This is our view from Homie. Cool Right!!
Butterfly!!
It was a hot day again so the kids hit the pool!!

As the sun was setting, we played around the campground. We did laundry and got ice cream (surpriser right:))).

Around 8 PM Scotty and I drove up to Devils Tower so he could see it. There is a little walkway around the entire tower that you can see the tower from all angles. We walked it and were astonished by the formation and the history of the tower. I have read about three different Indian legends about how Devils Tower came about. My favorite one is a story about a family of kids that were out playing. One of the boys turned into a ferocious bear and started chasing his siblings to kill them. They ran until a tree told them to jump on her branched and she would save them. The kids jumped on the tree and the tree grew higher and higher. The bear clawed at the tree making the claw marks but the tree kept growing. The kids went up to the heavens and are now the stars in the Big Dipper. There are other legends that vary in their story. But the truth is that the tower was erected by a volcano. The cooling of the magma is what formed this majestic tower. The Indian legends are more fun to tell:)))

These are prayer bundles that the Indians hang from the trees by Devils Tower.
