Friday February 19, 2021 - A Safe Travel Day to New Mexico!!

This morning the sun was out, the roads were clear and the snow storm was gone.  Yay!!!  I'm so glad that we didn't travel yesterday.  As we drove, there was still snow on the sides of the road.  I can't even imagine how much snow they had yesterday.  When we arrived at our KOA, they said that at the KOA alone received up to 7 inches of snow.  Phew!  We dodged that bullet.  Even though yesterday was a bit of a drag, staying put and everything, it was the right choice.  Today we entered New Mexico with clear skies and confidence that we were safe!!

Along the way, we had to stop so Scotty could take a call.  We parked across the street from a gas station.  There is a lot of land here.  It was very easy to find a vacant and safe place to park!

Welcome to our KOA!!!  The KOA is located about 30 minutes north of Carlsbad, NM.  KOA's are seriously the best.  When we arrived, I had a lot of work to do.  The trailer was full of dried mud and dirt.  We had loads and loads of dirty laundry and we were out of food.  After our arrival, the kids all pitched in to set up.  Then they helped me get the trailer cleaned.  We mopped the floors and organized all the clothes.  I had about 7 loads of laundry that I hammered out at the KOA's laundry mat.  It took us about 3 hours to get everything back to its clean, organized state.  Then, once the kids were settled down with a movie, Scotty and I left to hit Walmart.  We bought some serious food.  At check out, Scotty and I rolled up with 2 full carts :).

The other thing I had to do was update the blog.  The internet down in Big Bend was horrible so I couldn't upload any photos.  I multitasked and uploaded all the photos today of the last 5 days.

Sometime when we had no internet, we got this comment from Joyce.  Scotty and I both were both very touched by this message.  If you remember, Scotty gave his suit to Cross back in Okeechobee, Florida.  Cross was investigating the church and didn't have Sunday clothes.  Without even thinking, Scotty packed up his favorite suit and gave it to Cross.  We are so excited for Cross and his decision to be baptized.  Being members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints has brought nothing but peace and happiness into our lives!!!  You have chosen wisely Cross!!! :))) hahahahaha.
