Sunday August 1, 2021 Home Sweet Home

The ward in Barstow was very close to our campground.  It started at 10 AM.  Our check out time was 11 AM so I talked to the KOA office and asked for a late check out.  They were OK with that:). We went to church then we hurried home to change our clothes and get out on the road towards home!  Next Sunday we will be in our home ward.

Driving home!! Almost there!!! I think I cried a few times on our way home, the reality that our trip was over hit really hard.

Welcome to Simi Valley, California.  As you drive into Simi, there is a smiley face on the hill by the 118 freeway.

We live in a cul de sac and were unsure if we could make the turn without major tire drag so we decided to park Homie down the street and walk up to check it out.  This is our neighborhood:)))

Our cul de sac!

We decided that we could carefully pull Homie up on our street, so we did  and we had no tire blow outs!!!  Here is Homie in front of our house.  We parked Homie there for an hour or so while we unloaded as much as we could.

Everyone was so happy to be home.  The kids wandered around the house for like 15 minutes before I could get them to help unload.  They walked around the house as if they were seeing it for their first time.  Scotty sized all the kids in the garage to see how much they grew on the trip.  Everyone grew so much.
I took a few pictures of our house!  The pool was just as beautiful as we remembered it!!
PS. The renters left the house absolutely beautiful.  They did such a fantastic job taking care of our house while we were gone.  One more blessing to add.  The house looked just as we left it.  They left it clean and all the furniture looked amazing.  They paid every month and they cared for our home. Wow!  Even during Covid. We feel so grateful for them.

Pepper and her room.  She was running around so excited to have her own room back!

This tree was a little baby fig tree when we left.  Look how much it grew!!! I was super surprised.

Dave came over to say hi to us!!

Once we unloaded Homie, we drove him over to a campground near our house to park him.  He will stay here for a week and a half while I clean him out and try to sell him.

Back at the house, our friends the Hale's, brought us dinner.  They were so thoughtful to offer dinner to us. We really needed it.  After a long day, everyone was hungry!
Asher's buddies Jackson and Will came over!  My two adopted sons!!!

The Hale's!!  Shelly has followed our journey every step of the way.  She was the one who wrote the poem that I published a while back.  Thank you for being apart of our journey!!

Later, Peppers BFF Cassandra,  came over to play!!!  These two are the cutest!!!

Even though it was a Sunday, and we don't usually swim on a Sunday, today was different.  First day home.  All the kids ended up in the pool.

Here are our final stats!!  Wow, what a great experience!!  I feel so incredibly blessed right now.  Gratitude will be flowing through our veins forever after this wonderful experience.
This next week will include preparing Homie to sell, reconstruction in Scotty's office and moving back into our home!!

I am so relieved to be done blogging!!  I might post when Homie sells, but besides that, I'm done!!!
Mission accomplished!!  Go Team!! Celebrate!!! Ciao!!!!
Thank you to everyone who followed us on our journey.  Thank you for your prayers and your thoughts.  You all are what made our journey sweet!!!
