Saturday May 30th Lake Mead and Cookies

I woke up early to try and get a run in.  I ran an easy 4 miles to get moving.  Then came back to our beautiful campground. It is really hot here.

These are my forever flowers that will last the whole trip.  Papa Bob and Nana Nena gave them to me.   Best part is that I don't have to water them :)
I had the hardest time waking Asher up this morning.  So I decided to take a picure of him sleeping :)
Today we had such a blast.  We went to Lake Mead and met our friends Austin and Meghan and their niece Chrisalyn.  It was a beautiful easy drive up. To keep the kids busy during the drive,  I had them all draw our trailer in the Las Vegas KOA.  Here they are:                                                                                                                                    Needless to say I laughed pretty hare when I saw Asher's. Pepper and Graham and Taj spent some good time drawing them. It made the drive easy, fast and mostly quiet.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      When we got to Lake Mead the road changed to a loose gravel road. We had to take this road to get to the cliff jumping spot that we were headed to.  We shifted our truck to 4 wheel drive and headed up the path with ease.  THEN.... there was a huge road block.  Some dude got stuck in his gangster low riding car :)  We pulled over and helped get them out.  I always say that you need to make friends with the gangsters, they will protect you. :) Graham jumped out  to help.  He and Scotty had their first "good turn" of the day.

This guy told me that his face was money so I had to put his face in my blog.  He's the dude that was driving and got stuck.  Stuck Money is my nick name for him:)

After we got them out we parked and walked down to the "non-social distancing" cliff jump spot.  hahaha  There were so many people there.  We died laughing because so many people were there, it was so funny.  Lake Mead is beautiful. We spent the rest of the day jumping off cliffs, floating in our tubes, hanging with Austin and Meghan and snacking.  It was so hot but the water was super cold.  It made for an amazing day.  The boys made friends with big groups of people and they all jumped together all day.  The cliffs were anywhere from 10 feet to 60 feet.  Asher never jumped straight down.  He flipped everything.  We have a ton of videos of them jumping but the videos aren't working here on the blog. I will figure out how to post videos.

This guy right here. I have to shout out to this amazing man. He is my favorite. Ya, maybe had has funny tan lines from all his biking but don't be fooled by that.  Not only is he the most wonderful husband but he is always looking for opportunities to serve others.  After he helped the dudes out from being stuck he didn't stop there. Today Scotty saved someone from drowning.  Yes, you read that right.  There was a small group of  "dudes" running out to swim across the bay area.  Then all of a sudden one of them started having a hard time. We weren't sure if they were messing around until the others started screaming for help.  We all ran out but guess who got there first.  Yup, Scotty got there so fast.  He grabbed a life jacket that someone had thrown out and threw it to the guy.  Then Scotty finished swimming to him.  He grabbed him and used all his Eagle Scout skills.  He flipped him over and pulled him in the way that the life guards do.  The dude had started breathing in water so he started throwing up.  When they got to shore Scotty made sure that he was breathing and OK.  The guy was so shaken up.  His buddies were yelling "Why didn't you tell us that you couldn't swim"?  It was pretty intense.  I'm so glad that Scotty was there and that the guy didn't drown.

We left around 5:30 or 6.  We then drove back to Homie -our trailer- and showered, ate dinner, then met Austin and Meghan AND one of my best friends from college - Elise!!!!!! - at a cookie place called Crumbl Cookies. They were yummy and sugary and just what my kids needed to be wild and crazy for the rest of the night.

MY Elise  My Scotty                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Pepper and Taj decided today that at every RV park that we are at, they will find a rock, color it and leave it where we camped for others to find.  Here is the rock they did at this campsite!!!!!
